UBS to Acquire Remaining Stake in Prediction Company LLC
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2005 UBS announced today that it has acquired Prediction Company LLC, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for undisclosed terms. UBS has been a joint venture partner and sole client of Prediction since 1995, when it entered the relationship through its acquisition of O'Connor & Associates. Prediction Company LLC, employs 46 staff and specializes in the development of advanced financial engineering and trading software. The company and its staff will continue to operate in Santa Fe as a subsidiary of UBS Americas. Karen Lawrence, CEO of Prediction LLC, will join UBS as a Managing Director, and has been appointed to the US Equities Operating Committee. Lawrence said: "We are pleased to be joining one of the leading equity houses in the world. This was a logical step in the development of our relationship with UBS, and opens a whole new range of opportunities for us."
