Software/Systems Developer
Work as a member of the Production Engineering Team. The team is responsible for:
- Providing engineering support for monitoring and troubleshooting production trading systems
- Managing releases of the trade engine software
- Enhancing and maintaining the trade engine software
- Developing tools supporting the operation and management of production trading systems
- Managing trade engine test environments
- Consulting other teams on production systems issues
The primary technologies utilized by the team are C++, Python, Java, Perl, and shell scripting. Primary target operating systems are Solaris and Red Hat Linux.
Candidate must have experience with C++ and Java. Candidate must have experience with software architecture, object-oriented design, and the ability to present such material to others. A bachelors or graduate degree in computer science is required.
In the coming year, candidates are likely to work on projects such as the following:
- Analyze existing multi-threaded C++ trade engine components for performance problems, and make corresponding performance enhancements to those components
- Develop a new trade engine component to manage a trade history database
- Implement a strategy for disaster recovery, including real-time capture of live trading data and market data at off-site location
- Develop Python and Java tools and components to support operation and management of trading systems
- Develop a web-based portal to integrate/consolidate operational and management tools for trading systems
- Unify disparate alarm and notification systems including email, blackberry and telephone notifications
Quantitative Research Analyst
Work as a member of an existing statistical-arbitrage trading team:
- Responsible for analyzing new information sources
- Developing new trading signals
- Developing optimization technologies
- Researching risk models
- Monitoring live trading
- Deploying trading systems
Applicants must have a strong educational background with an advanced degree
in math, statistics, physics, economics, engineering, finance, or a related field. Most members of the Prediction Company research team have a Ph.D. with
at least 2 years of experience in statistical-arbitrage or similar quantitative trading techniques.
Systems Administrators (2)
Responsible for daily administration, monitoring, maintenance and enhancements of highly sophisticated development and computing environments.
Experience with Linux, Solaris, TCP/IP networks is required.
Experience with NFS, Sybase RDBMS financial data services, ClearCase, open source software, web technology.
Two years experience.
BS degree preferred.
